You've heard enough of what they say about a free internet merchant account. It's not free, it's a gimmick, blah blah. Has anyone actually been tricked into enrolling himself on a free merchant account provider's services and losing money off it? If it's free, there must be a catch to it, right? How funny that the word "free" itself brings out the cynics in us!
In reality though, the so-called catch about a free internet merchant account is a result of human ingenuity. A perfect example of witty advertising skill, yes I agree as well. Providers say that it's free because if merchants apply and get approved, they get something free in return. This may be a free credit card terminal, free setup, free merchant consultation or a free application. Would you rather have any of these or none at all?
So I would not get hung up on the constant repetition that a free internet merchant account is nothing but scam. Rather, I would take advantage of what a free merchant account provider has to offer. Other credit card processors don't give freebies at all. What have I got to lose?
